Meetings

PSRT meetings are core to all editions of the PSRT.  The meetings enable participants to connect with each other on specific product sustainability issues. Participating companies represent the entire value chain,  bringing a diversity of perspectives and can benchmark their own activities.

Meetings allow participants to share lessons learned from their PSRT projects, and to keep abreast of new initiatives and policies in jurisdictions that may influence their products, markets and business strategy.

Projects

Another major component of PSRT participation is the projects.  For the International and Midwestern PSRT, participants and Five Winds work together on a project on a topic of their choice, while in the Northeast, participants all  receive results from a best practice research effort of relevance to all participants. In both cases, projects are designed to explore each member’s interests and answer pressing questions.

Past projects investigated the different  tools and approaches in use, or emerging as best practice, including projects on: measuring and demonstrating total cost of ownership; marketing a product’s sustainability features as a value-added; supply chain environmental management practices; environmental considerations in new technology development; product development & design for environment.
